poetry from California:
Glassy-eyed girl, why do you cry?
Your heart is dripping from your eyes
Doe-eyed dear, what makes you so sad?
And what do you most fear?
With your slender body, you slink from bed to bed
For whom do you wish to be near?
Your medicine is a poison,
yet you choke on it every time
I turn my eyes to the heavens,
begging to be saved
Absolve me of my wrongdoings,
for I’ve done them out of pain
